Students will have homework every night. It is typical to have 20 minutes of homework a night plus the expected 20 minutes of reading each night. Homework assignments will include but are not limited to spelling homework, math assignments that go along with the Everyday Math program, practicing their spelling words, and daily independent reading. Practicing addition and subtraction facts daily is also a beneficial use of time.
Please check and sign your child's planner and review their communication folder for daily homework assignments and important notes.
Homework is always due the next day unless noted on the assignment or in their planner. If homework is not returned the day it is due, then the student may need to work on it during recess so that they don't get behind. School policy states that for each day a student misses school, they have that many days before homework is due.
