I have had many jobs here at Hilton, holding positions in special education, general education, interim principal, and now RtI facilitator. This is actually my 3rd year heading up our RtI program and I couldn't be more excited about the difference we make in the educational lives of children. This year is even more exciting since we are expanding the program to include 3rd and 4th grade Literacy. My educational background is in both special and general education as well as holding a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. RtI is a perfect place for me since it is focused on specialized instruction and intervention for students who are in need of extra help but involves the whole school working as a team to close the gap between the struggling readers and their peers. I have the privilege to work with many different students, from each grade level, in small groups and make a huge difference in just a short amount of time. What could be better than that?
On a personal note, I love being a mother of 2 fantastic daughters, my oldest is a 6th grader at Maltby and my youngest is a 4th grader at Hilton. Between their many activities and school work, we love to spend time with extended family and friends. All who know me, including my students will tell you I LOVE to cook! I count myself lucky to have great kids, family and friends close by, and a job I truly love.
