Nancy Harkness Love

  • Nancy Harkness Love not only had Love in her last name, but also had a love of flying planes. She was born in Houghton, Michigan on February 14, 1914 and at the age of fourteen flying sparked her interest when she took a ride in a barnstormer's airplane. She went on to become a commander during World War II and founded the WAFS (Women's Auxiliary Ferry Pilots).
