BAS 8th Grade CTE Academy
-
Brighton Area Schools offers a CTE Academy to 8th graders. This extracurricular program allows 8th graders to work with Brighton High School CTE teachers (Engineering Design, Graphics, and Automotives) to develop their interest and skills in Career Technology fields. In its first year, 2017-18, over 40 students participated in the program. Many of these students competed in the Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society (MIITES) state competition. They presented design projects that they worked on during their six weeks in Matt Jourden's Engineering Design segment and Sean Carney's Graphics Segment.
