What We Offer
3 Hour Preschool - Our Preschool Enrichment program is for three and four year old children, each session is three hours, either 9:00-12:00 or 12:30-3:30. Each class is taught by a qualified, experienced teacher and an assistant. Students enrolled in the 3 year old classes must have turned three no later than October 1, 2024 and must be potty trained. Students enrolled in the 4 year old classes must be four by December 1, 2024 and must be potty trained. Three year old children may attend two or three days a week. Four year old children may attend two, three, or five days a week.
Infant/Toddler - Tot Spot provides care for infants and toddlers ages six weeks through two years of age. We have low child to teacher ratios. The children experience a wide range of developmentally appropriate socialization and learning opportunities while being nurtured in a safe and loving environment. The infant/toddler rooms require a 3 full day minimum, with flexible weekly scheduling and reasonable/competitive rates.
Preschool/Childcare Combo - Tot Spot provides a developmentally appropriate childcare program for three to five year old children. This program has the same preschool enrichment as our 3-hour preschool program, but with an extended day of care. The day includes social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development activities as well as morning/after snack, lunch and rest time. Each class is taught by an experienced, educated team consisting of a lead teacher and qualified staff.
Before/After School Programs - School age childcare, called Friendship Centers, will be offered at all Brighton elementary schools, Junior Kindergarten through fourth grade. Care will also be offered at Bullpup Club located at Maltby Intermediate School for fifth and sixth graders.Therapy Dog Information
Brighton has a therapy dog in each of its 9 schools. At Tot Spot, we have Henry as our therapy dog. Henry is an Australian Shepherd who turned 5 in August of 2023. Henry is named after Brighton High School Senior Class Principal Henry Vecchioni, who retired in 2019, after 28 years in the district. Henry Vecchioni dedicated his life to Brighton Schools making a huge impact on staff and students. We are so lucky to have Henry (the dog) as part of our Brighton Area School family! He spends most of his days in different classrooms, but spends his break in the office relaxing and taking as many pets as he can get!
