School of Choice

SCHOOL OF CHOICE (SOC) Application 2025-26

New student Schools of Choice (SOC) applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be accepted only during the application collection windows noted below for the following grade levels. Brighton Area Schools will accept applications for non-resident (SOC) students who reside within Livingston County (105) and any contiguous county (105c). 

UNLIMITED - Grades JK-K
Applications accepted from 8: 00 am 2/1/2025 through Noon 6/1/2025

You will be notified by the end of June as to whether your application has been approved

SOC Application - UNLIMITED Grades JK-K

UNLIMITED – Grades 5-12
Applications accepted from 8:00 am 2/1/2025 through Noon 8/8/2025

SOC Application- UNLIMITED Grades 5-12 

 LIMITED - Grades 1-4
Applications accepted from 8: 00 am 4/1/2025 through Noon 4/30/2025

You will be notified by the end of June as to whether your application has been approved

Please complete the SOC application process noted below and wait for a response letter prior to submitting enrollment information.  

  1. For Grades 1-11 only - Complete the Affirmation of Prior Discipline/Services Form & collect supporting documents from the former school(s)/district(s) as stated on the form. This form must be verified by admin/office personnel from the last school/district(s) attended prior to submitting with the SOC application.
  2. A copy of a Report Card (grades 1-9) or an unofficial transcript (grades 10-11) with attendance information.
  3. A copy of the most recent IEP & Evaluation will be needed if your student receives special services (All grade levels)
  4. Complete the electronic SOC application form (by clicking on the link above) and upload all required documents mentioned above within the application form. (One file is uploaded for each entry; if your document has multiple pages, please scan to one file before uploading.)

To expedite this process, please submit all required information together at one time. PDF files are required - screenshots/photos will not be accepted. Please contact the Enrollment Office if you prefer to bring your documents in person. 

THINGS TO KNOW

●        Applications of students who have been suspended or expelled within the past two school years will automatically disqualify your student's application.

●        Please check your email (or spam folder) for communication from our Enrollment Office for any additional information or modifications that need to be made to your application.

●        Incomplete applications at the close of the window will automatically disqualify your student’s application.   

●        Transportation of accepted students will be the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian.

●        LIMITED application responses will be emailed to you after the application window closes.

●        You do not need to reapply each year once accepted and attending.
